Canta Clinic has been in business here in Carlow town for over 6 years now and continues to grow. Not only do we provide physiotherapy and Pilates services, we also work closely with other independent services including Sims IVF, Headway, Chartered Pyscologists and nutritionists who are all based out of Canta Clinic. Having this vast network of health professionals in one space really allows you to get the best treatment/service required for your specific needs. ​And if you are not sure what you need or want, always feel free to contact the cliic where one of our staff can point you in the right direction. 

About Us

Canta Clinic is a Chartered Physiotherapy Clinic in Carlow Town. The clinic prides itself on professionalism and patient centered care, delivered with expertise and precision. The clinic is passionate about optimising human function and movement to maximise physical potential.

 

Our Physiotherapists and Athletic Therapsists here at Canta Clinic ​are devoted to working with people to prevent, assess and treat functional impairments caused by injury, illness or aspects of their lifestyle.  We use a range of techniques including Soft tissue Massage, Mobilisations, Dry needling, Accupuntcure, Exercise preseciption, clinical plates, education and expert advice.

Reformer Pilates 
 
Book into one of our many Reformer Pilates Classes. Choose between Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, there is something for everyone
Mat Pilates

Book into one of our many Mat Pilates Classses available here at the clinic. It is open to all levels, whether you are a beginner or a Pilates Pro!

Ageless Strength 

 Join one of our Ageless strength classes, catered to older Adults who want to get stronger to help with everyday life.

Dry Needling and Acupuncture 
 
A number of our therapists provide Dry Needling and Acupuncture to help treat pain and inflammation
Orthopedic Prescription 

A number of our therapists can prescribe PPL biomechanic orthotics. Depending on the amount of correction needed and the budget we would regularly presribe either fully customised orthotics and semi customised devices.

Meet the Team

William Power
Physiotherapist 

 

William is a proud Carlow man with a long and dedicated sporting career. He began playing Gaelic football for Carlow at a young age and progressed all the way to Senior level. After sustaining a broken leg during a senior championship match against Offaly, he was inspired to pursue a career in Physiotherapy.

Since qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist, William has continually expanded his professional expertise. He is trained in acupuncture and recently completed an Applied Physiotherapy Masters in UCD.

William places a strong emphasis on staying informed about current best practice in physiotherapy and actively shares this knowledge with the wider team. His vision and passion have helped build a high‑performing team of skilled clinicians whose shared mission is to empower patients to become the strongest and healthiest version of themselves.

Diarmuid Geraghty 
Physiotherapist 

Diarmuid is a native of Carlow town. After spending more than ten years working in education both in Ireland and abroad, he decided to pursue Physiotherapy at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven.

Since qualifying, Diarmuid has completed a wide range of additional training. He is skilled in Western Medical Acupuncture, spinal manual therapy, and is certified in cardiac rehabilitation. He is also a proud member of the British Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).

Alongside his evidence-based clinical approach, Diarmuid has a strong interest in pain education and exercise prescription. He believes in shared decision‑making, empowering patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation so they can achieve meaningful, lasting results.

A keen sportsman himself, Diarmuid has worked with the Kildare Minor Hurlers, Killeshin GAA Club, and the Laois Senior Football Team. Known for his sparkling humour and easy-going nature, he ensures patients feel comfortable and confident before he gets to work.

Grainne Dillion
Physiotherapist 

Gráinne has over 25 years of experience working as a Chartered Physiotherapist across both hospital and private practice settings. She is qualified in acupuncture, neurology, and healthcare management, and has extensive experience in rehabilitation with clients recovering from orthopaedic surgery or neurovascular events such as stroke. Her broad clinical background makes her exceptionally well placed to support patients recovering from surgery, stroke, head injury, vertigo and a wide range of related conditions.

At home, Gráinne is surrounded by a lively household of young people and can often be found pitch‑side or running with the local Athletics Club to keep up her own fitness. Her bubbly personality brings sparkle and humour to the clinic every day, ensuring patients leave each session feeling supported, encouraged, and smiling.

Tom Pollard
Athletic Therapist 

Tom is from Hacketstown, Co. Carlow and completed his degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy at SETU. Since qualifying, he has continued to expand his clinical skills with additional training in Dry Needling, Mobilisations & Manipulation, and both Mat and Reformer Pilates instruction.

As an Athletic Therapist, Tom is fully qualified to assess and treat muscle and ligament strains, sprains, back pain, post‑fracture care, and post‑operative rehabilitation. He takes an evidence‑based approach to treatment, combining hands‑on techniques with tailored exercise prescription to help clients return to full function and feel like themselves again.

Outside the clinic, Tom is a keen runner and an active GAA and soccer player. He also brings extensive pitch‑side experience, having worked with numerous local GAA teams, giving him a strong understanding of sports‑related injuries and athlete care.  With his friendly, relaxed nature, Tom ensures every patient feels comfortable and confident throughout their treatment

Aaron Fattore
Athletic Therapist

Aaron completed his studies in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy at Carlow IT before going on to earn a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning. Since qualifying, he has expanded his skill set with additional training in Dry Needling as well as both Mat and Reformer Pilates.

His passion for rehabilitation through movement began with his own experiences recovering from injury. This personal insight fuels his commitment to helping clients return to full health with confidence and long‑term resilience.

As an Athletic Therapist, Aaron is fully qualified to assess and treat muscle and ligament strains, sprains, back pain, post‑fracture care, and post‑operative rehabilitation. He places a strong emphasis on exercise‑based recovery, ensuring clients build strength, stability, and lasting results.

Aaron brings a wide range of clinical experience from private practice and has also worked pitch‑side with high‑level GAA and soccer teams, giving him a deep understanding of both everyday and sports‑specific injuries. With his excellent organisational skills, Aaron ensures every patient leaves the clinic with a clear, personalised list of exercises to practice at home.

Averil Heslin
Receptionist

Averil is the person who makes sure that the clinic runs smoothly. She provides great care and service to our patients while calmly handling all technical, administrative and account matters as well as helping with the booking of appointments for both Physiotherapy and Classes.. Her expertise ensures both our clinicians and patients experience a hassle free environment.

Aedeen McLoughlin 
Pilates Instructor 

 

Aedeen is both a Balanced Body and APPI trained instructor. A practitioner for over 20 years and a teacher for 10 years she is also a fully qualified Women's Health Instructor in Pilates for pre and post natal recovery, pelvic floor, menopause and breast cancer recovery. She also teaches Dynamic and cardio reformer.

Maya Nair
Pilates Instructor

Maya is a student in SETU, studying Athletic Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation. She has a huge amount of experience with Reformer Pilates. She is looking forward to bringing all her training and experience into her teaching.

Ivana has recently joined our team after taking a career break to concentrate on her family. Ivana comes to us with extensive experience in teaching reformers for pre and rehabilitation exercise. She is very excited to be back on the reformer and teaching again.
